World of Warcraft: Where to Start on Supplemental Lore

If you are like me, a fan of the World of Warcraft game, then you may also have experienced what I have lately; That is, not knowing where to start if I wanted to supplement my Warcraft knowledge with books and previous games. I played the first Warcraft game years ago, dabbled with the second, and actually never played the third offering. Now, after playing WoW, I find myself wanting to know more about Azeroth and it's history. I did a search online and found that beside the obvious option of replaying previous games, that there are various books, including several trilogies. Now the question is where to start?

Well, I came across a simple answer yesterday on WorldOfWarcraft.com. They have a simple timeline that gives the titles of the games and books, and where they sit, in terms of years to each other. What an awesome offering! Also, they offer five chapters (chapter six is not complete) of condensed and summarized lore there as well. These chapters are even subtitled with where they fall in the timeline scheme of things (ie. Warcraft Three, etc). Well, now that you know where to look for the answer, head on out to the library, bookstore, or friend's house and get to reading and playing!
