This wonderful piece of fantasy has everything from magic and wizards to castles and swords. The book follows the main character, Alodar, as he makes his way through learning five classes of magic. In fact, the book divides itself into these subsections, which I must admit I really like. The classes as listed in the book are: Thaumaturgy, Alchemy, Magic, Sorcery, and Wizardry. Alodar takes on challenges in each of these disciplines all the while trying to attain his main goal. What is his goal you may ask? Well, I don't want to give away the story, so I will simply recommend you pick it up and give it a shot. This book is part of a trilogy of books by the same author that include, Secret of the Sixth Magic and Riddle of the Seven Realms. Therefore, if you like what you read in MotFM then I am sure you'd like Hardy's other two offerings.
